Ok when you install BizTalk on a machine you get one default host.
Let’s say you use that host for SQL / FTP / FILE and orchestrations. Now if a lot of files are dumped into the default instance BizTalk will start throtteling the default host. This has impact on all the recieve adapters that use the default host.
Actually all inbound messages will be paused untill BizTalk decides that it will throttle no more….
So during throtheling all receive functionality is temporarely disabled. How unfortunate if you are waiting on a message to finish a correlation on something. By assigning every adapter it’s own host, you will ensure that SQL HOST will keep on running smoothly when the FILE Host is throtteling it’s inbound messages.
So always create several hosts….. I suggest to create at least 3 hosts.
- an Orchestration Host
- a File Host
- Other Adapters Host (SQL, FTP, etc.)
Just as we speak Pervasive support is beeing added to Mygeneration. It will be available in the next release.
Sometimes you are forced to work with Codesmith. Cause there are templates built an all…. But now you can convert your codesmith templates to MyGeneration Templates. Have a look here…..
Well everybody should know by now that I am a huge fan of the MyGeneration code generator.
The guys who created the excellent dOOdad architecture are now building Entityspaces.
Entityspaces has some very nice features !
Read some of the features here….
Also nice if you are intersted in databinding…. (see bottom)
Jon Flanders has posted an excellent template wizard for implementing Enterprise Integration Patterns in BizTalk Server. Once installed, it will put a folder called Pattern Templates under your BizTalk Projects folder in Visual Studios.
This wizard will walk you through the creation of the patterns step-by-step. It creates correlations sets, messages, and orchestrations for you.
It covers Asynchronous Aggregation, First-In First-Out (three different types), Interrupter, and Retry.
Get more information and download the wizard from Jon’s blog.
Ok I already blogged a lot about MyGeneration.
Yesterday I gave a demo to several people and promised those people I would post a link to the quickstart guide. So here is the link. Too bad I had so little time to explain everything.
I didn’t had time to show the incredible MyMeta engine, Didn’t had time to talk about the SUCCESSOR of dOOdad, EntitySpaces (here is the link). Completely targeted towards Whidbey and ADO 2.0. Didn’t had time to mention the Templates that will generate a complete asp webapp….Men I could have talked for hours…….
But unfortunately we had several presentations. And they were ineteresting too…. Learned a lot about improving XML processing speed.
And to everybody who didn’t saw the presentation, I say. Go on, download MyGeneration, give the quickstart a look, try it out and you are hooked.
Good luck and happy coding
